1.  Special Education Staffing

Lynne Adams, Special Education Director, said due to the unique needs of students entering the district along with the current population of high needs students, there is a concern we are not meeting their needs with current staff.  She is asking for two additional part time ed. tech. positions to help support students.  By moving things around, she said there is enough money in the budget to pay for the additional positions.  This year special education programs for behaviorally impaired students went from 5 to 4 because open positions could not be filled.  It is a big concern for all school districts.

Mr. Anastasio said money, staff and space for our specialized programs are three concerns in building the 2017-2018 budget.

Motion by Kimberly Martin to recommend moving to the board 2 part time special education ed. tech. positions.  Second by Edward Hastings, so moved 2-0.

2.  Superintendent Evaluation Tool

            Attachment 1

Mrs. Martin presented a revised draft superintendent evaluation form based on agreed upon components from the last Personnel Committee meeting.  Mr. Hastings shared with the committee that the draft instrument did not reflect his original concerns.  After significant dialogue, no consensus was reached and Mrs. Martin requested Mr. Hastings to make available his draft version to be included on the next Personnel Committee agenda.

Meeting adjourned at 6:33 p.m.
